Achievements / Results

  1. Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Food Security:
    • Capacity Building:Trained 30 participants on soil and water management, natural resource conservation, and climate-resilient farming techniques, enabling them to implement sustainable practices.
    • Input Distribution:Supported 20 households with agricultural tools, fodder, crops, vegetable seeds, and fruit seedlings to boost productivity and enhance food security.
    • Energy Efficiency:Distributed fuel-efficient stoves to reduce deforestation, promote ecosystem protection, and lower household energy costs.
  1. Gender Empowerment and Social Inclusion:
    • Cooperative Development:Trained 20 women and youth in cooperative management, enhancing economic self-reliance and promoting community collaboration.
    • Gender Mobilization:Conducted 50 gender awareness sessions, educating the community on gender equity and its role in building resilience.
    • Gender Analysis:Completed a gender analysis to inform strategies that ensure the inclusion of women and youth in agricultural and environmental initiatives.
  1. Ecosystem Resilience and Environmental Protection:
    • Promoted sustainable land management practices to protect natural resources and reduce the impact of climate change.
    • Strengthened community capacity to adopt climate-resilient farming techniques, reducing vulnerability to environmental degradation.

Impact

The ILM Program directly benefited 240 individuals, enhancing food security for vulnerable households, promoting gender equality, and contributing to environmental conservation. The project demonstrated the effectiveness of integrated approaches in enhancing food security, promoting ecosystem resilience, and empowering communities. By combining CSA, gender-sensitive programming, and sustainable resource management, the program laid the groundwork for long-term resilience and inclusive development in Gode Woreda.

  • 240 individuals directly benefited from the program’s training, inputs, and mobilization efforts.
  • 30 participants gained skills in sustainable land management and climate resilience, implementing these practices in their communities.
  • 20 women and youth developed the skills to manage cooperatives, increasing financial independence and social cohesion.
  • 50 mobilization sessions reached 5,000 community members, spreading critical messages about gender empowerment and resilience
